Iodide and chloride ions diffusivity, pore characterization and microstructures of concrete incorporating ground granulated blast furnace slag

Innovative approaches are under research to study the resistance of chloride ion penetration in concrete containing ions, minimize impact test errors coastal reinforced (RC), which is helpful design RC structures. In this study, diffusion depth, free concentration and coefficient chloride, iodide ions with different curing ages GGBFS content were measured by Rapid Chloride Migration Test (RCM) Iodide tests (RIM). The SEM-EDS MIP used analyze microstructures, pore size distribution hydrated products. results show that performance against corrosive affected age GGBFS. With increase content, especially 60% GGBFS, influence penetrating into gradually becomes smaller. long-age system more conducive migration iodine ions. Compared ordinary concrete, total porosity mixed lower, internal microstructures have fewer cracks defects, density better, also lower. addition, using concept adjustment (conversion between ion) applying data regression analysis (DRA), it found there a good quadratic parabolic function relationship coefficient.
